“You’re way beyond any help I can give,” Julia said, “but damn—good for him.”

“What?”

“I told you once before, Sean’s my favorite brother-in-law. So, what’s next? You gonna sign up for romance on the Marquis de Sade website?”

“Screw you.”

“No need to get nasty. It’s not my fault Sean dumped you.”

“He hardly dumped me. He gave me an ultimatum.”

“Uh-huh. Anyway, now that he’s free—”

“Whoa. Hold it right there. He’s not free.”

“Come on, Cait, I know you, remember? You’re definitely not the type to cave to commitment or ultimatums.”

“You haven’t seen me at work.”

“Maybe not, but I have seen you with a few men.”

“Sean isn’t just any man. I adore him.”

“Well, given the way you’ve avoided him until now, you’d have to convince me of that. Or better still,” she said, interrupting Cait, “get down on your knees and convince him.”
